Now something completely different...
... planted a tree, built a house and all sorts of other things, wrote a book ...

Now I'll tell you how it came about. On my birthday, a dear friend gave me a political book (Construction Sites of the Nation). In the digital age, I wanted to explore the possibilities of EBOOKS and read the book electrically, also because after an eye accident it was more difficult for me to read in artificial light than it used to be. Thought, done. In addition to the extremely interesting content of the book, as a digital-savvy oldie, I was also concerned with various other questions: Do you use a special device, such as Jeff Bezos' little kindle, the Tolino from German-speaking countries, or the existing tablet for reading? If so, which file format (PDF, ePUB) and which APPlication is particularly suitable for the job? Questions about questions. Reason enough to present my own "works" in e-book form, especially since the question of when the book about my air rifles, which was announced years ago, would finally appear, kept coming up. During the research and preparatory design work, I came across my diploma thesis, which I had written in 1982, again. I thought that the topic and content remained the same and I converted this work into an electronic book. Both books are available to download here
.

"Stendener" GPX Trails

In the last years you have seen me on the street more often than in the workshop. You will also find a selection of bike tours here (mostly circular cycling courses from 20 km to 60 km), most of which are easy to ride from Stenden and which I really like. Sometimes field and forest paths with unpaved surfaces are included. Sometimes you also have to use the bike rack for the trailer coupling if the tour does not start in Stenden. Some tours are also multi-day tours.

A click on a line shows the trail on "http://www.gpswandern.de/gpxviewer/tvanzeige.shtml". With the download button you can then also save the trail locally to feed your navigation system.

As time goes by....
Despite the lack of free wall space on my "Ponderosa" and temporary slight disabilities due to a small accident, there were again some watch ideas again this year. But see for yourself:
February 2014 - April 2015:

As Time goes by....
Somehow I did not have any really new ideas concerning pneumatics last year. As you would certainly recommend: "So what, have a break". From the thought, "If I have back pain, at least others should move" and inspired by the Casablanca song I came to the topic "As time goes by and other moveing objects".

So I took vacation from compressed air weapons: From wood and various scrap from the yard I made some watches and other moving objects. Professionals may forgive me the lack of expertise and technical terms. As an amateur in the best sense of the word I started to tinker.....

But let's have a fewer look:

McAirrow RustyII
Too bad that Rusty is so ugly, I thought in the past few weeks and came up with the idea, to make a new 'Rusty'. The result is McAirrow RustyII. Only the Lothar Walter barrel remained from the Original. You can learn more here:
September 2013:

McAirrow Blunderbuss
Well, I know: A blunderbuss is actually something else. But believe me, it 'thunders' immensely if the lady speaks to us. And if we do not want to follow, she can repeat her short saying, once, but then the air cylinder will be empty. After I built my first and only rifle in caliber .45 in the year 2000, my shooting range should now again hear a really adult bass. Unlike Lilliput long rifle's Grand Pa (see also YOUTUBE - Tod eines Märchenkönigs)my blunderbuss of today is a breech loader with two-round magazine in .45, once again in my favorite design (barrel below, reservoir above). But let's have a fewer look:

McAirrow BallaBalla_ttd (train the dog)
All good things come in threes: After completing the spring- and the high pressure variant, I made the new Co2-version exclusively for dog lovers. No, no, you're on the wrong track: It is not the punishment, but rather the physical training of your dog, the 'walking stick' is made for. Dog friends had pointed out to me that one can hardly take a gun-looking thing to a walk-tour in the forests. So now Balla Balla exists in the form of a walking stick .... You can learn more here:
March 2012:

McAirrow BallaBalla_ht (high tech)
As you can imagine, it was absolutely necessary to make a Ballaballa pneumatic version, because a life without this would be possible, but pointless. BB_ht is 55 cm long, weighs without cartridge (300 bar Walther LP-cartridge) 800 grams and 'pushes' its 'ammunition' (caliber 3.15 ", 1500 grain), well known from the base model with an adjustable velocity of between 7 m/s and 25 m/s. But let's have a fewer look:
March 2012:

McAirrow BallaBalla_lt (low tech)
So now he had a very hot bath, you might think. But no, this is no joke. Some time ago, a young lady from a funfair company called me. Also in this profession one must constantly innovate in order to attract additional customers. Maybe one could shoot the balls of a traditional aunt sally instead of throwing them. If I would possibly develop an idea? But let's have a fewer look:
February 2012:

McAirrow Benchrest
A pity, that the first gun, I made, shot that bad. So in the past few weeks of Siberian coldness I came up with the idea, to reengineer 'FirstTry'. The result is McAirrow benchrest. Is has only the .22 Lothar Walther barrel in common with the original 'FirstTry'. You can learn more here:
January 2012:

McAirrow Softy No.1
Had'nt we recently Christmas? And all kids got their toys then? And is my shooting range perhaps not heated? And in winter, I am cold there. And are all my other guns too dangerous and too loud to use them in my flat ? And moreover, I sold all my muzzleloader stuff - and I am missing her very much, my little Barlow.....
Questions over questions ....
Soft No.1 is a vintage-style soft air gun made from steel, brass and olive for 0.2 gram 6mm BB's. It measures 33 cm, weighs 800 grams and is blowing the peas out of the 12 shot magazine with 70 meters per second through the barrel (<0.5 joules). You can learn more

McAirrow MultiMag
McAirrow Multimag? - What the hell is this? A magazine for pellets, that's nothing new, would you think. You're right. Many different kinds exist already. But what would you say if there was a magazine that would convert your single-shot bolt action rifle to a repeating rifle. Well yes, also this exists already, you would say, because you've heard of http://www.qbmags.com. But if you could use the magazine not only for a particular type of weapon and a specific caliber, but use it for most popular pneumatic single shot rifles of .177 up to .22 and above all, if it was a super fast magazine that would not have to be indexed by hand ? Well then, it probably would be something really new, you mean. McAirrow Multimag is just that: a pellet magazine for the conversion of pneumatic single-shot weapons to repeating rifles. With my magazine you can use your single-shot bolt action rifle without any changes as a super fast repeating system. And best of all: One and the same Multimag works with pellets of all shapes, lengths (up to 10mm) and caliber (.177, .20, .22). By the way, you can contact me if you also want such a MultiMag. I made a small series of MultiMags for 'test customers'. But let's have a fewer look:

McAirrow flycatcher
'McAirrow flycatcher' is not a CO2-gun, but an air SA revolver. The idea was, to use the barrel as a reservoir und to shoot through the ejector rod housing. But let us have a fewer look:

McAirrow oHenry
'McAirrow oHenry' is an strong .22 caliber underlever air rifle with energies up to 70 joule. 'oHenry' is 110 cm long and weighs 4.3 kilo. oHenry shoots korean Pellets (30 grain). But let us have a fewer look:

McAirrow Pneumatic Booster XP
You would certainly agree, that the new model has a better design and handling compared to the pump of the year 2000. The picture shows top down the closed pump, the pump without protective caps and the pump ready for use with connected pressure tank and compressed air bottle. To fill your tank, you simply have to turn the grip five times to the left and to the right. That's all.

McAirrow HowStuffworks

One of these past Christmas days I went to my attic to see what I would find there. And I found this little treasure, a rusty antique reminding me of these ancient outsidelocks from the 17. century. However, this specimen seems to be made even of less parts and does not need any levers inside. The movable lock parts are fixed visibly outside. A closer examination lets us identify some interesting Details.

Of course, what you read above was a made-up story.
October 2003:

McAirrow AirTwin
I am not really sure that the world has been waiting for such a twin barrelled pneumatic gun. I just wanted to make a slim, nice hunting gun with two (break) barrels in .22 and .177. Now 'AirTwin' with its beautiful grained walnut stock is one of my favorites. The butt contains the air reservoir with a quick filling valve . You break the barrels (System is cocked now), place a .177 and a .22 pellet and close the system. Now you are ready to shoot with around 25 Joule at the front trigger (.177 Schulz-pellets with 320 m/s) and with around 45 Joule (.22 Baracudas with 250 m/s) at the rear trigger. One really difficult problem to solve was synchronizing the two barrels. AirTwin is 105 cm long and weighs 4 Kg. Here you find some further details.
June 2003:

McAirrow 'goes West'

For a few years I have owned an excellent Career 707. A few disadvantages (expensive special pellets, bad trigger, a design, that not everyone likes) let me to think of my own underlever-solution. The alternative fun gun of another German maker works with all the disadvantages of Co2 and is not really precise: They advertise their product with a circle of 15 mm on a distance of only 10 Meter. My 'low-loader' is about 103 cm long and weighs 4 kg. The stock is made of superb rosewood. I placed the Walther match barrel below the 'wrong' barrel (=reservoir). You see a very precise cal. 177 fun gun with a quite simple mild steel action and with about 20 joules of energy. Here you find some further details.

May 2003:

Mixed
items
During the last few months were close to vacation from pneumatics. I spent some time with a bit of inlay-work, with making a few reading glasses, a (small) framehouse, a few knifes and fingerrings. Here you find some further details.
January 2003:

McAirrow chipmunk
is lilliput long rifle's (see below) youngest son. Actually, it is a mixture of an old German 'Jaegerbuechse' without a cock, the famous American long rifle and a modern pneumatic gun. This 'low-loader' is about 105 cm long and weighs 3 kg. The stock is made of old wood remains (let's protect the rain forest) and contains visible the 'wrong' barrel (=reservoir) and below unvisible the real barrel and the action. You see a very precise cal. 22 hunting rifle with about 50 to 70 Joules of energy . Here you find some further details.
October 2002:

McAirrow zoo
During the last weeks I was concerned about the old man shooting discipline (ft) and these poor knockover-targets. For practice in my back yard, I made some steel-animals with a special mechanism. Here you find some details.
October 2002:

Mixed items
Back to the roots. The last few months I have worked on several more or less old second hand rifles I bought for a few EURO (a kind of money everone has to use now). For a couple of months I have also had a lot of fun with this old man shooting discipline (You know, as grandfathers we are almost unable to move. So we sit in the field in a relaxed way and shoot on poor steel-animals that cannot move either). This is why I made a Weihrauch HW97K McAirrow special (foreground of the picture). The whole system can move on rails in the front part of a well fitting match-stock I made. Let's say, it is a kind of WEIHRAUCH HW97K MCAIRROW AIRKING FT-MATCH
. Here you find some details, also about my knockover target with revival function.
June 2002:

McAirrow Match1
This match rifle is not really beautiful in its more or less conventional design. It is about 100 cm long and weighs 5.3 kg inkl. scope. Nevertheless, for every real enthusiast it contains features which are, which are not part of other match rifles: Adjustable regulator, adjustable main spring for a pellet energy between 4 and 16 Joule and a exchangeable air volume behind the regulator. Here you find a description of these details.
May 2002:

McAirrow Mach_1.1
This match rifle in an old, but for pneumatics new design is about 108 cm long and weighs 4,8 kg inkl. Simmons scope. Its barrel contains the real .177 barrel and the 200 ccm reservoir. Depending on the kind of pellets and the adjustment of energy it contains 25 to 60 shots (V0 can be set from 300 to 370 m/s measured with AirArms pellets). I much like the dark rosewood stock of this gun, which is my favorite one at the moment. Here you find some more photos of the details.
March 2002:

McAirrow Shotgun
is a 'hunting shotgun' with about 200 Joule of energy in a .34 caliber. The shotgun is about 115 cm long and weighs 3,5 kg. The strong action and the 180 ccm reservoir guarantee 5 high quality shots (V0 varies between 245 and 255 m/s measured with H&N 100 grain lead bullets) between 210 and 130 bar. The dark cherry wood stock completes the hunting appearance of this gun. Here you find some more photos of the details. For this gun, I used my new selfmade checkering tool for the first time.
January 2002:

McAirrow Encore25
is a precise 'hunting rifle' with 65 joules of energy in a .25 caliber. The Encore is about 90 cm long and weighs 3,3 kg. The finely adjustable spring action guarantees 15 shots of a high quality (V0 varies only between 248 and 252 m/s with H&N Baracudas). The 'wrong barrel' in a dark walnut stock, the shooting belt for a good free hand postion and the optional 12-shot- magazine (also usable as an indicator for your remaining shots) complete the hunting character of this rifle. Here you find some more photos of the details.
Dezember 2001:

McAirrow la Belgique
is made from a Belgian black powder muzzle loader pistol in the original caliber .32. The pistol fires now .177 diabolos with 7.5 joules of energy in a circle of 3 centimeters at 25 yards. The brune (brown) system has a "wrong" barrel. The oiled stock is made from reddish walnut. Here you find some more photos of the details.
November 2001:

McAirrow Bobcat32
weighs 3,8 kg , is 90 cm long and fires 32 SW projectiles with an energy of around 140 Joules. It hits a circle of 30 mm at 25 yards. You stretch the hammer with a lever hardly without any force. This stock is made of dark red cherry wood and also reminds us of the 'Stalker Bobcat'. Here more details.
August 2001:

McAirrow Bobcat177
is a short (80 cm) and light-weighted (2.5 KG) airgun and fires its .177 pellets quiet, fast (250 m/s) and with good accuracy (1,5 cm / 25 Yards). The stock is made of Cherrywood and reminds us of the 'Stalker Bobcat'. Here more details.
June 2001:

McAirrow Pure
McAirrow Carbine is an extremly powerful and very accurate ' arrow accelerator ' in a nice 'back to the roots ' design. McAirrow Carbine is 95 cm long, weighs 2.5 kg, fires bow arrows with a velocity of 100 m/s (approx. 100 joules) and hits a circle of 20 mm at 25 yards. Without regulator one tank is sufficient for about 15 shots with a continuous velocity of 80 m/s. A few more Details you find here:

May 2001:

Actionboxes
Evaluation electronics (Shooting Traffic Light) of the shooting pendulum can also be combined with pneumatically operated shooting boxes. Only one electronics is necessary to operate the whole system with several targets (possibly a mixture of boxes and shooting pendulums). Here you find some details (Please be patient downloading a 2.2 MB File).

April 2001:

Action Pendulum
The 'action pendulum' is a shooting game. You use moved targets, taht are variable in size and function and you hear your hits already with approx. 3 to 4 joules of pellet energy. You give a push at the pendulum and it will move for approx. 2 minutes. By using a cable, you can hold it in motion. The 'action pendulum' is made of a versatile mounting element, a pendulum rod and an adjustable weight with changeable targets. In the simple form, hits are displayed optically or acoustically. In the extended version a sensor with evaluation electronics transfers this function.

February 2001:

Barlow's air sister
looks a little bit like my Barlow Underhammer from 1998. With cal .177 AirArms pellets the gun does velocities around 270 m/s (18 Joule). With a shoulder strap and a scope you can achieve circles ctc of 14 mm at the 25 yards distance without difficulties. The 28 cm choked Lothar Walther barrel helps a lot to get this degree of accuracy. Here more details.
February 2001:

AirArms Magazine
makes my AirArms S300 /400 a 15-shot repeater. The magazine is pushed onto the rail for the scope and fastened with one screw. It works perfectly, although every specialist would probably smile in view of the principle (only the force of gravity effect on 15 rolling pellets). I used a rail guidance for the 'flatheads'. This type of magazine can be used with many single shot pneumatic guns that have a 'bolt action' similar to the S300/400. The little video shows the action.
December 2000:

Lilliput long rifle's Grand Pa
works as a muzzleloader with .45
200 grain 'realos' and a velocity of 250 m/s (400 Joule). You hit a 15 mm circle ctc at a 25 Yards distance. Wood of one and a half inch is no problem at all. I had a lot of fun making this strange design. Here you find more details.
Lilliput long rifle's Grand Pa
in detail. In the walnut-stock you find the butt-reservoir and the filling valve. With one filling you get four full power shots at 400 Joule. With this energy - level, Grand Pa is not really noiseless.
Lilliput long rifle's Grand Pa
in detail. Brass accessories, leather wrapping and a hammer with (adjustable) spring tension for adults complete this attractive rifle. As it turns out, Grand Pa is also suitable for occasional special operations.
October 2000:

Lilliput long rifle's tall sister
needs .22 pellets for around 40 Joules. Here you find more details.

July 2000:

Lilliput long rifle's big brother
works with .32 SW and a velocity of 250 m/s (200 Joule). You hit a 20 mm circle ctc at a 25 Yards distance. Wood of one inch is no problem at all. Here you find more details.

Lilliput long rifle
cal .177 . A strong (270 m/s =18 Joule) and leight-weighted (2.2 Kg) gun for off-hand-shooting with an unconventional design for such a kind of airgun. Circles ctc of 10 to 15 mm at the 25 Yards distance are usual results. Here you find more details.

March 2000:

Pressure Amplifier for PCP's
The pressure amplifier is connected with your SCUBA and the weapon tank. The amplifier lets the compressed air flow out of the bottle into the weapon tank, as long as the bottle pressure exceeds the tank pressure. Later you simply operate the lever several times. The necessary energy comes from your muscles, but without any strain. This way you can always obtain the full weapon tank pressure without another source of energy The number of fillings you get from one fully filled air bottle increases from 20 to 100.
January 2000:

High Pressure Pump for Precharged Pneumatics
The high pressure pump is connected with your SCUBA and the weapon tank. The pump lets the compressed air flow out of the bottle into the weapon tank, as long as the bottle pressure exceeds the tank pressure. Later you simply operate the valve several times. The necessary energy comes from the bottle itself. This way you can always obtain the full weapon tank pressure without another source of energie. The number of fillings you get from one fully filled air bottle increases from 20 to 50. A regulated input pressure would improve the efficiency of the pump and an automatic valve control would increase the smell of High Tech. Without both I got an inexpensive solution for the shooter.
January 1999:

Mountain Rifle cal .45 (
System is patented)

German enthusiasts always look for authentic muzzleloaders that shott well over longer distances. Although they can buy free muzzleloader rifles, it is difficult to get the permission to buy black powder. Even more difficult is it to find a place to shoot because of numerous regulations for black powder shooting stands (including noise / smell of sulphur etc.). Selling this kind of weapon on the german market became more and more difficult. My idea was to construct and build a muzzleloading rifle, ignited optionally by a percussion cap, not driven by black powder but by compressed air. Not wanting the rifle to be expensive I took an existing percussion rifle and adapted my air-device. With a SCUBA bottle the recently patented system shoots a 250 grain REAL with 150 ftp of muzzle energy at a pressure of about 1800 psi. Try it and you will hear a real bang and feel a strong recoil. More details you can find in the German magazine VISIER 01/2000. The article on pages 106-110 caused a lot of phone calls from people interested in my inventions.

The air- and primer-operated Mountain Rifle in .45 caliber (patented system) delivers an astonishing 200 joules with both round balls (8g) and REAL bullets (16g). In this combination, the rifle is a world first.

McAirrow
® K1
is a blowpipe with handpump. You put arrows made of plastic straws on a thin tube. Now you can shoot the arrows - softly but exactly. Arrows are available with suction cups for young McAirrow-friends and with softdarttips for the older ones and the sophisticated. With a little imagination and skill you can develop your own arrow-versions. If you treat them right, our arrows don't break before the 101st shot. In case you as a millionaire don 't have to care about your money that much, you can buy ready-made arrows and other accessories from us or one of our affiliated institutions

McAirrow FirstTry
Inspired by an article in the visor, I made my first compressed air rifle from workshop stocks. In .22 caliber it fired 25 joule groups of 20 mm ctc.
